EduSnap Classroom Observation Measure is a time-sampling observation measure that quantifies how children experience their time in education and care settings. EduSnap Data are collected during naturalistic observations of classrooms and the functioning of the classroom is not disrupted. Employing 25 codes, the EduSnap Classroom Observation Measure provides an in-depth look at how children experience activity settings (e.g. whole group, small group, transitions), content areas (e.g. literacy, science, math), student learning approaches (e.g. collaboration, metacognition), and teaching approaches (e.g. didactic, scaffolds).

Electronic data collection
Users conveniently collect data using an Apple iPad and data are immediately saved on a server for easy access. This electronic data collection method eliminates the need for data entry and analysis after observations are complete. Additionally, the EduSnap application has a built in timer to keep users on track with clear cues directing users when to observe and when to code. Users can populate definitions and examples for each code at any time should clarification be necessary.
Unlimited observations
Each EduSnap license affords users unlimited observations during the licensed time period. This gives users the flexibility to collect 10 observations or 50 observations for the same price. There is flexibility in the type of observations, too. Users can collect any length observations, tailoring the experience to their needs. An unlimited number of users can be registered on each individual license allowing different users to work off the same license, though they cannot use the license simultaneously.
Graphs and tables
When users are ready to review their observations, EduSnap Data are presented in meaningful, immediate, and easy to read graphs and tables that are automatically saved to the license for future use or can easily be emailed as a PDF. Users can generate data for an individual teacher or aggregated across observations by grade, school, or district. The graphs show proportions of time children are exposed to each EduSnap code and are grouped in meaningful ways to thoroughly describe children’s classroom experiences. For example, graphs represent Literacy Components, Math Components, Curriculum Balance, and Teaching Approaches.
